About
Ed Cooper (b.1976), a professional artist and art instructor from Ipswich, Suffolk, finds his inspiration in the Suffolk Landscape and the rich tradition of artists who have captured its unique essence. His artistic journey began at The Ipswich Art School, where he developed a keen eye for working from life and observing the world around him. Furthering his education, he earned a Fine Art Degree in Painting and Drawing from Swansea Institute of Higher Education.
After a brief hiatus working in customer service roles, Ed’s passion for art led him to a full-time commitment to painting, drawing, and the study of Art Theory, which now informs his teaching. With a Postgraduate Certificate in Education, he embarked on instructing adults in the art of painting and drawing.
Today, Ed seamlessly combines his roles as an art educator and a dedicated artist. He paints ‘en plein air’ and in his Ipswich studio. As a member of the Ipswich Art Society, Ed’s work is featured in local galleries and available online, where his social media presence helps connect him with art enthusiasts.
